See
stakeholders to raise awareness of
811 throughout our communities. Our Public Awareness Committee, as well
as others who share the passion for damage prevention, often collaborate on outreach events and ideas to increase 811 awareness. That’s one of the many reasons why we love this industry, is the constant teamwork and coordination. Isn’t that what it’s all about, working together as one team with a common goal? That goal is executing great and meaningful work safely, accurately and efficiently. That’s why participating
in your local Utility Coordinating Council (UCC) is so important. It’s an excellent forum to build relationships with other companies within the utility and construction industry. We discuss current and upcoming projects so that everyone is on the same page and can coordinate working together to ensure safety, accuracy and efficiency. You’d
be surprised how many vital entities
are involved. Reach out to me for more details, and I’ll connect you to your local UCC Chair. And the cherry on top is the annual celebration of excavators with their local UCC by conducting a Diggers Night Out! These events are incredibly enjoyable with a free dinner, door prizes and most importantly, strengthening relationships among each other for the betterment of everyone involved!
The way I
it
We appreciate everyone We’re constantly coordinating with
who has utilized a free training opportunity with us this year! We
just completed 27 dinner excavator PAL (Pipeline Association of Louisiana) meetings throughout the state, hosted by Paradigm and sponsored by numerous pipeline and utility operators. If you happened to miss it, reach out to us and we’ll connect you to the virtual training and make sure you’re on the invitation list for next year.
We had a blast executing various outreach initiatives to celebrate 811 Day this year, especially the free snow cone giveaway to the public! Atmos Energy sponsored the Baton Rouge area at Lowe’s. CenterPoint Energy sponsored the Bossier City area at Bass Pro, Tractor Supply and Tubbs Hardware. Louisiana 811 sponsored the Lake Charles area at Coburn’s, Greengate Garden Center and Stine Home & Yard. Special thanks to the Department of Natural Resources, the hosting businesses and everyone who helped execute this campaign. Other 811 Day efforts included a social media contest and marketing, TV news and radio interviews, press releases, billboards, digital advertisement, and providing graphic and useful content for our members.
